Massage therapy for children and babies is a gentle and nurturing practice that promotes relaxation, physical development, and emotional well-being. It involves soft, rhythmic strokes and pressure techniques tailored to a child’s age and needs, enhancing circulation, muscle tone, and flexibility.
Registered Massage Therapist, CIMI
As an RMT with 25 years of experience and a Craniosacral therapist for 27 years, I have been privileged to work with both children and adults. For several years, I had the opportunity to work in a sheltered workshop with special needs adults in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. In 2000, I trained and certified as an Infant Massage Instructor (CIMI) with the International Association of Infant Massage (IAIM). Since that time, I have taught classes of various sizes, with city leisure services and in clinical settings, as well as one-on-one in private homes. I have always enjoyed working with families in both my capacities as a massage, craniosacral therapist and an Infant Massage Instructor.
Working with special needs children holds a special place in my heart as I am the mother of a special needs adult and have had experienced the many challenges families face when a child is given a devastating diagnosis.
